132-page document shows full extent of iPhone's influence on Samsung interface design

Apple succeeded today in getting the entirety of an internal Samsung report comparing the iPhone to its own Galaxy S admitted into evidence. First reported by All Things D, the 132-page document paints a picture of Samsung recognizing superior elements of Apple’s user experience and changes Samsung needed to make in order to improve its own products. In most cases, these "Directions for Improvement" amounted to adding features or details where Apple’s interface was better, and subtracting those things that made Samsung's interface appear complex in comparison. While it's easy now to pick out areas where both iOS and Android engineers borrow from one another for new ideas about functionality, the document shows just how finely Samsung aimed to emulate Apple's user experience in 2010.

Apple won a temporary reprieve in an order from a UK court that the company must advertise that Samsung didn’t copy Apple’s iPad. A higher court ruled that Apple could postpone those advertisements until October, the first chance Apple will have to appeal the order itself.

An alternative for AirPlay Mirroring

... It can mirror your complete desktop up to 1080p on a 3G Apple TV, mirror just a specific application (without background desktop cutter), as well as extend your desktop between your Mac and your TV (this is a feature that works only with OS X).

A nice alternative for AirPlay Mirroring.

Apple has been battling it out in court over Samsung allegedly stealing the iPad’s design with their Galaxy Tab 10.1. Recently the battle came to an end in the UK, when a judge ruled that while the iPad is “cooler,” the Galaxy Tab 10.1 doesn’t show enough similarities to be considered infringing.
